Acquiring customers via the Internet

The internet offers a new, low-cost way of acquiring customers. Of prime importance are the search engines (such as Google), which account for more than 80% of all Internet traffic. Your site could be passed right by unless you have made sure that it is properly "optimised" so that it performs well in search engine results: not just for your company name, nor even your products themselves, but importantly, for the broad descriptions of what you do which match what people actually type in.
